IACR (Indian Association for Cancer Research) was founded in November, 1980 in Mumbai with a vision towards advancements in research encompassing all the aspects of tumor progression as well as to promote the interactions between researchers in this field from across different parts of the country. Over the past 40 years, IACR has made significant strides from fostering research in cancer diagnosis, therapy and prevention to promoting cancer education and cancer awareness in society. Today IACR serves as platform holding international conferences, workshops, local meetings, awareness programs and much more, which traditionally brings students, researchers, post-doctoral fellows, young investigators, senior scientists, medical faculties, oncologists and industrialists together under a single roof, thus, encouraging significant development in all areas related to cancer research by uncovering molecular basis of cancer leading to novel therapeutic strategies. The number of IACR life members has steadily risen, with a current strength of over 1000 life members, which includes more than 100 overseas members. The IACR Secretariat operates from TMC, ACTREC,Navi Mumbai.
